Why do an SEO audit?

I will remind you that an SEO Audit is an analysis of the effectiveness of your website in terms of natural referencing (positioning of the site on Google). It is therefore used to find the actions to be implemented to improve its positioning on relevant keywords. This is important because business prospects are looking for information on Google. So proper positioning on relevant keywords leads to website visits, sales…

The SEO audit, a mandatory first step

Indeed, if you want to improve your natural referencing, you must start with an SEO audit. It allows you to see the positive and negative elements of the website by reviewing all the essential criteria for SEO. We will analyze the technique of the site, the competition, the net linking, the ergonomics/tree structure, the keywords… We will end up defining a list of actions to be carried out and prioritizing if possible. We also talk about Seo Services in Lahore, SEO analysis, website analysis, SEO audit, SEO analysis, SEO test. All of these terms mean the same thing.

SEO, this complete profession

Indeed, improving the place of a site on Google may seem simple at first. Nothing is more wrong. It is about performing subtle and technical actions. Google is watching and trying to see if the website owners are over-optimizing, basically trying to manipulate them. So you have to do activities with a particular skill. Otherwise, Google will crack down, and instead of improving its positioning, it will even have the opposite effect and deteriorate it, which would be a shame.

  • To know the current positioning of your website (the site is present on which keywords? And it is in which position for each keyword? Which pages are well-positioned? …)
  • To know who the competitors are on the keywords and their key factors of success in SEO (their keywords, their positions, their net linking)
  • To know the blocking elements at the technical level of the site (code errors, redirection, lack of technical details (language, indexing …), page download time, net linking, mobile optimization …)
  • To know the quality of the content (text, multimedia, and especially tags)
  • To know the negative points related to ergonomics, the customer experience …
  • To know where we want to go

Indeed, the company wants to improve its presence on Google. Ok, but that’s way too fuzzy. It must position itself on which keywords? The part on keyword analysis will tell. This is critical as it helps you to place yourself or place yourself better on these keywords.

Go from a fuzzy objective to a list of concrete actions

The objectives of improving SEO are multiple. Sometimes the company wants to strengthen its positioning on Google without further details, and there is everything to do. Others already have keyword ideas that they think are interesting, and of course, they don’t know if they rank well on them. There we will study their positioning and especially analyze if these keywords are relevant and analyze if others are not (and perhaps more).

With the SEO audit, we start from nothing or a vague or inconsistent objective (when the desired keywords are not logical, and this is common) to arrive at a list of actions to be implemented. It is, therefore, much easier for the customer. Moreover, these actions can often be carried out in part or in full by the company.

SEO audit avoids leaving from everywhere

It often happens that companies are reluctant to do an SEO audit. For different reasons :

it costs too much; they prefer to put the money in concrete actions, they have seen on the internet that it is necessary to optimize tags, create content, and do net linking. Ba, the result will not be super famous. By wanting to make small savings, we will have modest gains (hoping that there is again elsewhere, at worst there will be over-optimization and Google will downgrade the website, oops)

they think they already know what the SEO audit will say, and therefore it will be useless (most of the time, it is totally or partially false, and like in SEO, everything is hidden in the details …)

In conclusion, an SEO audit done by an SEO professional is essential. Yes, it has a cost, but taking actions without having done an SEO audit beforehand is often wasted time or especially a significant loss of profit. Moreover, SEO and, therefore, auditing is an investment and not a cost. If done by a professional, it will bring in a lot more than it cost.

Last little note: a “real” quality SEO audit takes at least one working day! And yes! And I mean, at the very least! So yes, it is a cost, but in my experience, I had never seen a client tell me after delivery of the SEO audit that he had thought about this before the review and that suddenly the report had been useless.
